Step 02. Sketch & Rendering

This stage is of a concrete form of the formative design concept and UX design concepts completed in the planning stage, and the detailed sketch, and modeling work is done. The automobile exterior design is based on a sketch and is made from a ¼ life-sized clay model. Through the process of implementing the sketch three-dimensionally, it is examined whether the concept is well reflected when realizing as an actual model. The interior design is created as a virtual model using 3D modeling software. Modeling is completed in detail based on the UX design concept in the planning stage.

Step 03. Digital model production (CAS) & Video review

The digital model-making (CAS) process is for revising and supplementing detailed designs by completing sketched designs in three-dimensional forms on the computer. This stage is of refining the interior and exterior details of the car meticulously. Once the digital model is created, it is reviewed through VR. When the automobile is realized as an actual product, it is examined if the established design concept in the planning stage has been properly reflected, and if there are any areas that need correction through a preview. This is the stage to make the final decision on your design.

Step 04. 1:1 clay model manufacturing

Even if digital models are done with details, the feeling can be different from the complete actual models. This is the stage where the digitally manufactured model is implemented in real life. By using industrial clay to create a 1:1 sized clay model similar to the real one. Designers give the clay model the senses of touch, emotion, and smell, and create a feeling similar to a real vehicle by repeating free expression and modification like a sculptor. You can feel the sensation of life-size, which is difficult to confirm with a digital model through this process.

Step 05. Emotional Design & Color Design

The final stage of the design. It can have a totally different feeling depending on what emotion and color is applied on even the same models. Designers give new sensibility through human senses like sight, hearing and touch. By combining elements such as numerous color combinations, luster, patterns, and surface treatment, the final value that consumers desire and enjoy is given. Step 06. Class A

When completing the emotional design and color design, final skin data for design is created and distributed to each partner. After distribution, design engineering of the product begins officially.
